Oswego Harborfest

Throughout the July 23-26 weekend we spent our time at Harborfest in Oswego, NY. We were lucky enough to have beautiful weather the entire weekend, at least until we were just about to pack up on Sunday when the thunderstorms hit. We both got soaked but managed to salvage all of our set-up. We had huge crowds all day, both Friday and Saturday. Everyone enjoyed playing in our racing modules and signing up for free, to win tickets to the NASCAR race. Spongebob even stopped by to try out the simulators! Their were national trampoline aerobatics performing right nearby that kept us entertained. They put a great show on for everyone at Harborfest. We were also joined by our good friends from the Corning Museum of Glass who were giving away glass figurines in a free raffle as well as doing hourly glass blowing demonstrations. This was one of our last big stop of the summer which means NASCAR @ the glen is right around the summer!

Syracuse Nationals weekend

We had a blast this weekend and saw hundreds maybe even a thousand plus beautiful old cars. Any of you that weren't there really missed out on a great time. McDonalds was there with us and gave away tickets to the Heluva Good Sour Cream Dips at the Glen race on August 6-9. They had many lucky winners who will either be: first time goers to the track or will be headed back to enjoy the festivities they've come to love. This weekend we are headed to Oswego Harborfest for what is sure to be a crazy time. We can't wait to see all your faces out there.
One of Lees dream cars is pictured above. It is a 1968 Camaro!

Don't forget to get your tickets to the race! It is approaching fast!!!

Syracuse Nationals

We head out to Syracuse this weekend, July 17-19, for the Syracuse Nationals. Our hours will be 9am-6pm Friday/Saturday, 9am-3pm Sunday. We are heading out today to setup. You can check out what is going on at their website http://www.syracusenationals.com/ . Our table will be indoors so we wont have to worry about the weather which will be nice for a change. We hope you can get out to win some tickets, enjoy some beautiful classic rides and the festivites!

Roseland Water Park

We had an adventorous day at the waterpark in Canandaigua on Wednesday. NASCAR provided us with some free model racecars of the Ryan Newman "Kodak" car to give to some lucky fans. They were gone before we knew it. The weather was beautiful and all of the kids were chompin at the bit to check out our car and play in the modules. Lee had to try out some of the water rides which he said "Were crazy!" Some things never change.

Elmira Pioneers Baseball

Friday night we stopped down to the Elmira Pioneers baseball game. We tossed some free hats into the stands during the game for some lucky fans. People were very excited to enter into our drawing for NASCAR tickets and to ask us questions about the legendary track and our upcoming events.

Ithaca YMCA Summer Camp

Wednesday, July 8th, we traveled to Ithaca to entertain the kids at the local YMCA summer camp. The racing modules were a huge hit with the kids. Our posters were a huge hit and the kids grabbed everything they could get their hands on. It was great to watch the kids enjoying the beautiful weather and being able to add to their excitement with Kyle Bush's Nationwide series car.

Indy / July 4th Weekend

The weather and racing turned out great for the July 4th weekend at the glen! The weekend ended with the number 18 car of Justin Wilson pulling into victory lane and taking home the checkered for the first time in his career. Everything turned out great for us. We saw the faces of some lucky winners that were chosen by Jack and I for wearing the stars and stripes hat throughout the weekend. We gave them access to the pre-race and victory lane for the Grand Prix. They all enjoyed this experience of a lifetime.

Syracuse McDonald’s Stop

July 2nd we headed to Syracuse for the final McDonald's stop of our ROT tour. Race fans stoped by and loved checking out our showcar. Tons of little kids ran up saying, "Woah a racecar!" The kids were also loved our free posters of indy drivers. The weather fortunately held up for our stint in the parking lot only to rain for our drive home. Our raffle of Nascar tickets began at this stop in place of the previous giveaway: Indy tickets. We hope to meet you at our upcoming stops so you can register to win NASCAR tickets on the August 6-9th weekend!

Big Weekend

On the docket:
Thursday: we will take our tour up to Syracuse for the 4th and final McDonalds stop on our schedule. The McDonalds is located on West Genesee St and we hope to see you there as we gear up for the crazy weekend ahead.

Friday: Indy weekend will commence, however we will be MIA from the track as we will be in downtown Watkins Glen at "Clute Park" for the "Indy-pendence celebration". There will be a driver Q&A, trailer walk-throughs, IamIndy racing simulators, our typical set-up, fireworks, food and much much more. Come out and join us for a great night.

Saturday: Saturday we will be up at the track for a number of great races including the Indy Lights race. There will be a wine experience (essentially a miniature Wine Fest), concert at night featuring The Presidents of the United States and fireworks following it. If you don't want to miss the Nascar race that evening we will be displaying it on a jumbotron near the frontstretch grandstands.

Sunday: The real fun starts, we have the Indy Grand Prix and Lee and I will be in charge of the pre-race laps driving the drivers around for an introduction lap in the Toyota Tundra trucks that Toyota so gladly lent us. Look for us in both the lead and rear car. Make sure you get your Fourth of July WGI hats also, we will be selecting 25 fans to get into pre-race and victory lane for othe Grand Prix.

We look forward to seeing you all at some point this weekend and hope you all enjoy the races and have a great time at the Glen.

Tuesday, June 30, 2009

We made our way back to our old friends McDonalds, this time our stop brought us to Corning. We didn't fair so well with rain, but we have grown quite use to that after the last few stops. People kept on coming any way, it appears when you bring out simulators, giveaways and a stock car, nothing will keep them away. We hope to see you at one of our next stops or at this weekends race!

Taste Of Rochester

The weekend of June 26-29th we stayed in Rochester for the annual "Taste of Rochester". At the start we got soaked. Later in the day it cleared up and stayed that way for the majority of the weekend. The festival abruptly ended Sunday as we got drenched again. We had a lot of people that came to our tent, checked everything out and signed up to win Indy tickets to the event being held July 4th weekend. We stayed in the Radisson Hotel which turned out to be convenient for us as it was within walking distance of our display. We also tried out our new tv for the first time this year and played last years Nascar race at the Glen. It was a very long weekend but most everyone had a great time.

Mcdonalds Stop In Utica

Wednesday, June 24th we traveled all the way to Utica, New York. We met up with the radio station "Big Frog 104" at the Utica Mcdonalds on North Genesee Road. The kids were very excited to see Froggy and collect some free posters from us of Indy Car drivers. Everyone seemed very excited to see us and Froggy and the weather was very humid but all in all a fun day at Mcdonalds.
